Above The Law has been running a Second Favorite Blog After ATL contest, which ends tomorrow. So far, the Wall Street Journal Law Blog is way out in front, and a number of loyal voters have indicated that Above The Law is actually their second-favorite blog after Above The Law, so it’s Lattman vs. Lat in a contest sponsored by Lateral Link.

But several of the other blogs in the running are great resources for getting up to speed on a practice area, even if they’re missing that one syllable so critical to the online legal community (lat).

Obviously, you should read a firm’s own descriptions of a practice group, as well as bios of the interviewers you’re scheduled to meet, but perusing some of the better blogs in a field can both inform and energize your discussion of an area. (It’s not a bad idea for law students either, but try not to become a gunner.)

I’ll be adding field by field recommendations to my blogroll over the next few days as I better bend Wordpress to my will. In the meantime, feel free to add any recommended reading in the comments.
