So, now that we’ve been doing surveys together on Above The Law for a bit, Dave invited me to try my hand at writing some posts, so yesterday I posted on ATL.
Yesterday’s survey was on ATL’s Lawyer of the Year poll, and it will be interesting to see whether ATL readers mirror the Wall Street Journal by choosing Loyola 2L, or whether they lean toward Barack Obama. So far there are about 2,400 responses, which is pretty astonishing.
In any event, it was a momentous occasion. I was a mere two posts away from John Quinn’s open e-mail to the site. And after the dust settled and the commenters started up, I saw my name in (electronic) print on one of the legal world’s most prominent blogs:
Who the f*ck is Justin Bernold? I should have known Lat was not physically capable of saying nice things about Obama.

My mom will be so proud.
Seriously, though, thanks for inviting me to post, Dave. It’s an honor.
I should really write a post to introduce myself, but I wound up in jury duty today, so it’ll have to wait. (There’s something a tad discomforting, by the way, about the jury selection process once you’ve become an associate pirate. “I think I can be impartial your honor, but does defense counsel realize that his bonus last year was $25K below market? And plaintiff counsel’s resume is in Arial font. I mean, seriously.” Suffice it to say, I was excused.)

Hey Justin,
I just wanted to say congrats on your blog, and a job you seem to adore. I LOVE the Arr is for Resume… Just a law student now, but I’m sure I’ll call you when I’m ready to be… Pirated.
